Municipalities with climate adaptation projects can apply for the first time
The German Federal Environment Ministry and the Federal Environment Agency are now jointly seeking innovative projects with sustainable solutions for climate adaptation. To this end, they launched the "Blue Compass", the highest state award in Germany for projects aimed at adapting to the consequences of the climate crisis.

From 2018 to 2020 , an international working group of IFLA World, under the leadership of Prof. Fritz Auweck, has developed an amendment to an international definition of the profession in close coordination with the International Labor Organization (ILO) , which is now also available in German translation. Based on the principles of ISCO (International Standard Classification of Occupations), IFLA has formulated a definition of the profession of landscape architect. However, there are certain differences between the ISCO definition and the professional tasks of German landscape architects.
