On 24 June 2020, the Federal Foundation for Building Culture presented the Building Culture Report 2020/21 "Public Spaces". So it was only natural that the current podcast in the series "10 Minutes of Building Culture" should also deal with the design of public spaces. In its statement on the Building Land Mobilisation Act of 1 July 2020, the bdla already vehemently opposed an extension of Section 13b BauGB. This was done in broad agreement with practically all professional, planning and environmental associations. Currently, NABU has started an online petition to the German Bundestag demanding that §13b BauGB be deleted from the draft law.

The bdla is involved as a conceptual partner.

As part of the European Green Deal, the EU Commission has presented a strategy for the protection and restoration of biodiversity. In addition to species protection, this is intended to counter climate change, among other things, because "nature is our strongest ally in the fight against climate change".

On behalf of the Federal Chamber of Architects and the Federal Chamber of Engineers, a second online survey on the effects of the Corona pandemic in planning offices was conducted in June 2020. The evaluation for the entirety of architects shows that the crisis is currently hitting the profession less hard than feared in April. The state support measures are stabilising the offices. Nevertheless, there is no reason for architects of all disciplines to sound the all-clear, as 49 percent of the planners surveyed expect a decline in orders over the next 12 months.

In view of the negative economic effects of the Corona pandemic, the Bundestag passed an economic stimulus and future package with a volume of 130 billion euros on 2 July 2020. Many measures are welcome, such as the additional strengthening of climate protection and economic support for companies and municipalities.
