As reported by the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection, the Bavarian State Parliament today approved the expansion of the Bavarian National Park "Bayerischer Wald" by a total of almost 700 hectares. The national park ordinance was amended accordingly.

On April 5, 2022, the first public event took place within the framework of the pilot project initiated by bdla Bayern and coordinated by the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection (StMUV). 180 representatives from municipalities, administration, associations and planning offices participated.

Together with Green City e.V., bdla Bayern is currently planning an exhibition on unsealed and newly greened courtyards as part of the 7th Architecture Week (A7) in Munich (25.06 - 1.07.2022).
It is planned that the exhibition can be visited daily beyond the A7 until autumn 2022 in a building made available for interim use at Schwanthalerstraße 57 in Munich.

The new ideas competition "Climate Protection Next Door" awards up to 3,000 euros in prize money.
Ideas on how each and every individual can contribute to climate protection in their own neighborhood can be submitted on the website www.klimaschutz-nebenan.de until May 15, 2022. The best submissions will receive seed money for implementing the idea. These can originate from the most diverse areas of life - from energy saving over nutrition up to the own mobility behavior.
The competition is not looking for scientific papers or recommendations to local government. Rather, the focus is on concrete suggestions that can be easily implemented by as many people as possible on site.
The ideas competition is organized by the nebenan.de Foundation and sponsored by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), the Allianz Umweltstiftung and Robert Bosch GmbH.
